Company History

  • April 2003

    Grandstand Design Enterprises, Inc. was founded by Christopher L. Howard initially for the purpose of being the regional representative of Southern Bleacher Company (Graham, Texas) servicing Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.

  • June 2004

    Grandstand Design Enterprises begins furnish and install of Southern Bleacher bleachers and pressboxes as a subcontractor on regional K12 projects.

  • March 2005

    We obtain a Class A Virginia construction license and State of Maryland construction license and begin bidding work directly to K12 entities as a prime contractor.

  • May 2007

    We begin marketing stadium related design/build services to the K12 and Higher Education construction community.

  • December 2008

    Secures first $1.0 million bleacher/ pressbox construction contract (Walter Johnson High – Bethesda, MD).

  • March 2010

    Secures first major Higher Ed stadium project (Williams Stadium West Side – Liberty University).

  • December 2011

    Secures first major design/ build contract – Virginia Tech Lane Stadium Club Level.

  • May 2012

    Secures two phase contract to demolish and build new PE Stadium – Frostburg State University.

  • August 2013

    Secures contract to relocate, renovate, and add pressbox to visitor stand– Salisbury University Seagull stadium.

  • May 2014

    Secures construction contract for VIP Section – Akerson Tower – Navy Marine Stadium and design/ build contract for New Rugby Stadium – Naval Academy Athletic Association.

  • February 2015

    Secures construction contract for Salisbury University Seagull Stadium Home Side.

  • February 2016

    Secures multiple design/ build contracts (Liberty University, Gallaudet University and Southern Virginia University) and multiple construction contracts with Salisbury University (softball and soccer stadiums).

  • June 2017

    Awarded Salisbury University Baseball Stadium.

  • October 2017

    Awarded stadium bleachers and pressbox prime contract – Crofton Area High School.

  • January 2018

    Secured construction contract for Williams Stadium East Side Expansion – Liberty University.

  • January 2019

    Secured design/ build contract for Pressbox and Suite Addition – Greene Stadium at Howard University.
